About the Polygraph Examiner

Experienced Professional

Michael is the polygraph examiner for Precision Polygraph of Texas. He started the private polygraph firm in 2020 after retiring from state law enforcement. He holds a Master’s Degree and is a graduate of the National Conservation Law Enforcement Leadership Academy. He is a former Assistant Commander Texas Game Warden.


Michael has 17 years of state law enforcement with over 4,200 hours of formalized training in various aspects of law enforcement. He has taught at two colleges and was awarded the Texas Parks & Wildlife’s Medal of Merit. He has also coached African and Latin American leaders in the International Conservation Chief’s Academy. 


Prior to entering in law enforcement, the veteran naval officer was forward-deployed in the Far East on a U.S. Naval destroyer as the combat information officer. For that service he was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal.

Formal Education

  • 1991 – Bachelor of Science Degree – Texas A&M University
  • 1995 – Completed service as U.S. Naval combat information officer aboard a forward-deployed destroyer, maintaining his residence in Japan
  • 1999 – Masters Degree – Management – Cornell University
  • 2004 – Commissioned as Texas Peace Officer
  • Certified as a Law Enforcement Instructor
  • Certified as a Master Peace Officer
  • 2020 – Retired as a Texas Peace Officer
  • Graduated from the top-rated and accredited Polygraph Institute (San Antonio)
  • Graduated from an approved Post-conviction Sex Offender Testing course

Credentials

  • Licensed as a polygraph examiner in three states; reciprocal privileges in four more states; able to conduct polygraphs in 25 more unlicensed states
  • Member of multiple national and state professional polygraph associations to facilitate continuing education and to remain current with developments within the polygraph profession, including being a board member of one state organization
  • Member of the British and European Polygraph Association
  • Digital computerized psychophysiological tools and accredited training school
  • Graduate of an approved Post-conviction Sex Offender Testing course and continuing education
  • Seventeen years of experience as a state police officer
